Don Baas

PT, CEO

Don earned his Physical Therapy degree from Fresno State University in 1990 and has been providing patient care, practice management, and clinical development since.  Don has focused on outpatient physical therapy with his first leadership role in the Seattle Washington area, managing and developing a successful multidisciplinary team focused on both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.  Don has also co-developed multiple highly successful Urgent and Family Care Centers in the Vancouver, Washington area and is currently the CEO and co-developer/co-owner of Western Physical Therapy, Inc., our multi-practice company with offices from the Sacramento area to north of Redding.  Highlights of Don’s patient care career include programs development for pre-and postsurgical rehabilitation patients, mentoring and developing treatment and clinical operational skills for physical therapists taking leadership roles within the company, and working with high-level throwing athletes during their rehabilitation for shoulder and elbow injuries with a focus on clinical healing and prevention.  It has been Don’s highest privilege to work alongside of and learn from and grow with our fine physical therapists and supporting staff at all levels.  Don is a longtime Redding resident and a graduate from Enterprise High School, later attending Shasta College before transferring to Fresno State.  He enjoys cycling, fishing, all things outdoors, and most of all spending time with his family.

Brian Baas

PT, CFO

Brian earned his Physical Therapy degree from Fresno State University in 1992 and has been providing patient care, practice management, and clinical development since. Brian also has extensive experience in leadership and team development within the outpatient physical therapy setting as well as providing basketball coaching for area schools. Brian is the CFO and co-developer/co-owner of Western Physical Therapy, Inc., our growing organization of outpatient physical therapy practices. He has been extensively involved with systems and business development as well as private practice consulting. He is active in community outreaches, has served as Anderson High School’s athletic team therapist, and enjoys developing physical therapy programs. Brian also is a long time Redding resident, attending North Valley Christian School prior to a brief period in San Diego for high school during which he was a leader academically and on the basketball court. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his two daughters playing basketball, golfing, wake surfing, and cycling.

Patricia Harrison

Human Resources/ Credentialing Specialist

In 2002, Patty was the first hire on the team that eventually became Western Physical Therapy. Her vast responsibilities include credentialing, book keeping, supply management within all ten clinics, employee paperwork and benefits, coordinating maintenance on equipment, and is the first contact for any minor disasters that occur. She has provided years of dedication and leadership to individual staff members and our company as a whole. As a long time Redding resident, she enjoys attending local events and spending time with her family.

Stephanie Gale

Billing Manager

Stephanie has lived in Redding for most of her life and received her California State Certification in Administrative Medical Assisting at the Institute of Technology. She has been a part of the team at Western Physical Therapy since 2015. Stephanie is responsible for supervising a team of billing representatives, credentialing with different insurance companies, posting accounts receivable payments, assisting in implementing company policies, and updating our staff resource website. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with her boyfriend and their children.

Sarah Pearson

Interoffice Front Desk Lead

Sarah is originally from a small town on the Northern California coast and relocated to Redding with her husband in March of 2022. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Administration from The Pennsylvania State University in 2023 and enjoys using those skills in her role at Western Physical Therapy. As our Interoffice Front Desk Lead, Sarah is responsible for assisting in the hiring and training of front desk staff and the standardization of organization and processes at our clinics. She loves all things related to the Fall season and spending time with her husband, Ben, and their two dogs, Maggie and Gus.

Jeanne Artress

Accountant / Bookkeeping

Jeanne has been a crucial part of Western Physical Therapy for the past two years. Her role with Western Physical Therapy is to manage all of the accounting for our organization which includes responsibility for the general ledger, payroll and accounts payable. Previously, Jeanne worked for our CFO, who is one of the company’s owners, in a different company. In addition, she owns and operates a book keeping service for a number of companies in the Redding area. Jeanne was born in Ethiopia and serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of a non-profit organization called FAME (Foundation for African Medicine & Education). Fame has been providing medical care and promoting medical education to remotely located Tanzanian communities for ten years. In addition to handling FAME’s accounting in Redding, CA, Jeanne spends two months out of the year in Tanzania, volunteering. Jeanne is detail oriented and thoroughly enjoys accounting.

Cara Osborne

Recruiting/Marketing

Cara was born and raised in Texas. She and her husband moved to Redding in 2006. Cara’s highest delight was serving her family as a stay-at-home mom for 18 years for their two sons. She has a background in performance arts: singing, dancing, acting, and also in sales and advertising. Cara was thrilled to join the Western PT team in February of 2024. She loves connecting with our community and conducting interviews to find amazing staff members for our 15 clinics. Another fun part of this role is coordinating community events with sponsorships and donations across Northern California. Cara enjoys all things fitness, healthy cooking, playing Uno with her husband, walking her Siberian Husky & Doberman mutt, sitting with her fluffy Pomeranian, reading Agatha Christie mysteries or an Oswald Chambers’ devotional, and coffee dates with friends.

James Penn

Maintenance and Repair

James was born in Tripoli, Libya, but spent most of his life in Houston, Texas (Go ASTROS!), later earning his civil engineering degree from Texas A&M University. After spending more than 22 years working in the offshore oil and gas industry as a structural engineer, James along with his wife Michelle decided to relocate to Redding to be closer to her family and to enjoy the natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle that Northern California has to offer. In his free time, James’ hobbies include hiking, snow skiing, fishing, and woodworking, and he enjoys his job with Western Physical Therapy performing maintenance and new space development.
